During my time at Assembly Studios, I collaborated with seven other interns to create a short film on a $7,500 budget within an eight-week timeline. I served as Head Screenwriter, Production Coordinator, and Script Supervisor, contributing to nearly every stage of the film’s development and production. As Head Screenwriter, I led the writers’ room and completed an original short screenplay for the studio within two weeks. In my role as Production Coordinator, I managed department heads during pre-production to ensure all equipment, schedules, and logistics were in place, while assisting the producer with insurance, budgeting, documentation, and the hiring of cast and crew. As Script Supervisor, I maintained detailed continuity, tracked shot progress and timing, and worked closely with the director to ensure the script was executed precisely on set. Additionally, I assisted in post-production as an Assistant Editor, helping to refine the final cut before submitting the film to festivals.
Beyond the short film, I also supported general studio operations, collaborating with the office production team on a variety of ongoing projects, events, and studio tours. This experience provided me with valuable insight into the day-to-day workings of a professional production studio, strengthening my organizational skills, adaptability, and ability to communicate effectively across creative and technical teams. Working in this dynamic environment deepened my understanding of both the creative and logistical sides of filmmaking, and reinforced my passion for collaborative storytelling in a fast-paced production setting.
Original Short Script for Assembly Studios
A recent PR grad walks into an interview, only to slowly realize he's being recruited to be the literal Devil's Advocate. As the questions get increasingly unhinged, he tries to keep cool… until it’s too late.
As a writer's assistant at Eyeam Cinema, I’ve worked on a variety of creative projects that expanded my skills as both a writer and content creator. I gained hands-on experience with the full narrative development process which strengthened my skills on planning the entirety of a project from from early concept ideation and script treatments to structuring compelling stories and building nuanced characters. I learned how to adapt ideas to fit production realities and received consistent feedback that helped me sharpen my writing for tone, structure, and clarity.
In addition to screenwriting, I took on projects in graphic design and digital content creation, such as designing flyers, thumbnails, and brainstorming short-form video ideas for social media. These tasks broadened my creative range and strengthened my proficiency with tools like Adobe Creative Cloud. Balancing remote and in-person work, I developed time management and flexibility while exploring different storytelling genres, including comedy, thriller, and romance. This experience has deepened my understanding of the creative process and affirmed my passion for storytelling in professional media environments.
During my internship, I was tasked with writing scripts for episodes from various short series on my supervisors’ YouTube channel. These included both pilot episodes and installments from ongoing series in development.
